These are the last major patron saint festivities of the calendar, closing the cycle that Sant Joan opens in Ciutadella back in June.
You will see horses rearing among the crowd during the jaleo, caixers in period dress, pomada everywhere and an old town that gives itself over completely. It is a deeply Menorcan experience and a barely touristic one. Shortly afterwards, Sant Nicolau in Es Mercadal marks the very end of the season. Walk the Camí de Cavalls
The GR-223 circles the entire island across 185 kilometres split into 20 stages. July is simply too hot to enjoy it; September, with gentler temperatures, turns it into the standout plan.
